Two books tackle another anniversary: 10 years since the invasion of Iraq. Jo Metson Scott tracked down soldiers in the US and UK who had spoken out about the war, and been imprisoned, silenced, shunned or, occasionally, celebrated as a result. Running alongside her portraits in The Grey Line (Dewi Lewis, ツ」30) are a series of handwritten accounts. The whole thing is presented in a way that is neither confrontational nor mawkish. Michael Kamber has put together a thoughtful selection of pictures for Photojournalists on War: the Untold Stories from Iraq (University of Texas Press, RRP ツ」44). Kamber, who covered the war for The New York Times, interviewed 39 colleagues for the book.
